Apparently, players from Chelsea and Real Madrid who do not want to be vaccinated against covid-19 will not enter the field in their respective clashes against French teams in the Champions League.
Chelsea face Lille first at home on 22 February and then visit the team at Pierre-Mauroy on 16 March. Real Madrid start dueling with Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes on February 15th and decide at home on March 9th. Both games are valid for the round of 16 of the competition.
The French government has adopted new measures to combat the pandemic. Starting next Monday, a certificate of vaccination or recovery from the disease will be required to enter major sporting events.
The French minister, Roxana Maracineanu, has already guaranteed that the laws apply to “all spectators and athletes and professionals, whether French or foreign”.
