Honored coach of the Russian Federation Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the absence of Elizaveta Tuktamysheva in the Russian national figure skating team for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
“Anna Shcherbakova deservedly took her place in the Olympic team. It’s right that they chose her, and not Tuktamysheva, ”said the specialist. She noted that the strongest athletes always go to the Olympics.
Tarasova also spoke about the composition of the men’s team. “There are no questions about the composition of the boys. Kolyada pulled out a lucky ticket. It is logical that Semenenko was not taken. His performance at the European Championships speaks for itself, ”the coach shared.
On January 20, the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKR) announced the composition of the national team for participation in the 2022 Olympics. In women’s singles, the country will be represented by Anna Shcherbakova, Kamila Valieva and Alexandra Trusova. In men – Mikhail Kolyada, Mark Kondratyuk and Andrey Mozalev. The team also included three dance duets and three sports couples.
The Winter Olympic Games in Beijing will be held from 4 to 20 February. In figure skating, athletes will compete for five sets of awards: four in individual competitions and one in team competitions.
