Robinho was sentenced to nine years in prison. Definitely

The fight with the Italians lasted over three years. And this is an even older case, because in January 2013 at Sio Cafe, a nightclub in Milan, Robinho, along with his friend Ricardo Falco and four colleagues, were to participate in a gang rape of Albanka, which was celebrating its 23rd birthday. According to the victim’s testimony, the then AC Milan forward had to meet her two years earlier, so when she received an invitation from Robinho to the table, she agreed.

Robinho sentenced by the court. Nine years in prison for group rape

The case started in 2014. Robinho denied the accusations from the very beginning, although he admitted that he had oral sex with the girl by mutual consent, without third parties. Robinho appealed to the court of second instance, and this finally the case lasted until January this year.

In the meantime, many details of the case have been leaked, including phone calls to Ricardo Falco, who was found to be involved in the gang rape. Talks with other colleagues, who were then present at the Sio Cafe club, were also leaked. However, four men cannot be charged under the non-extradition law.

When the case was brought to the third-instance court in Rome, it ended in the same sentence. In addition, the judge ordered Robinho to pay 60,000 euros in compensation to the injured woman. A similar decision was made earlier by a court in Milan.

Brazilian journalists doubt Robinho will serve his sentence in Brazil. The Italian authorities may, admittedly, attempt to transfer the player to their country, but the UOL journal writes that it is not known whether the local authorities will accept him. They may “prefer a footballer to serve a sentence”.

Let us emphasize that these are not the first accusations about Robinho’s life. The footballer heard similar accusations in 2009, when he was still playing in Manchester City. He was accused of raping an 18-year-old girl. However, the case was discontinued due to a lack of evidence.

Robinho is a Brazilian footballer described years ago as “the new Pele”. That was also the name of the legendary footballer. The striker, however, went on the wrong track, and the fun and alcohol turned out to be stronger. Robinho started his soccer career in Santos. In 2005 he joined Real Madrid, three years later to and two years later to AC Milan. Since 2015, he has performed in clubs from China, Turkey and Brazil. He ended his career in October 2020.
