Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic wanted to sue the Australian authorities. It is reported by The Sun.

Djokovic is in talks with lawyers to sue the Australian government for abuse. According to the tennis player and his family, he was treated badly in a quarantine hotel in Melbourne, where he was placed after the first cancellation of his visa.

The athlete plans to sue for 3.2 million pounds (more than 334 million rubles). This amount includes the prize money of 2.3 million (more than 240 million rubles), which the Serb could have received if he had been allowed to participate in the Australian Open (Australian Open).

On January 16, Djokovic was deported from Australia. The Serb was banned from visiting the country for three years. The athlete admitted that he was extremely disappointed with this decision.

On January 14, the Australian authorities revoked Djokovic’s visa and decided to deport him. The Serbian tennis player is in trouble because his visa does not include a medical exemption from COVID-19 vaccination. Also, inconsistencies of the declared information with real data were found in the documents.
