At the end of December, the Ordinary General Meeting of Legia Warszawa took place. The club’s authorities approved the financial statements of July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021. In accordance with the data included in the relevant documents, in the previous season it achieved losses amounting to PLN 34 714 837.14 net!

Looking at the company’s results in the same period a year earlier, it has serious problems. In 2020, there was a net profit of PLN 7.5 million – informs the portal. The documents also show the diametrical difference of the company’s equity, which on June 30, 2020 amounted to PLN 30.4 million. However, on the same day last year – only 900,000. Such a change results from the losses incurred by the company in the discussed period.
Profits and losses of Legia Warsaw:
- July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021: loss of PLN 34.7 million
- July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020: profit of PLN 7.5 million
- July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019: loss of PLN 29.78 million
- July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018: loss of PLN 44.15 million

Financial losses in the discussed period did not translate into the team’s results. Legia Warsaw ended the 2020/21 season with the Polish championship. The team also reached the quarter-finals of the Polish Cup, where the players from Piast Gliwice turned out to be better. The financial situation was not improved even by the sale of Michał Karbownik to Brighton, which was largely dictated by financial problems (it cost around EUR 5 million).
Net, it amounted to as much as PLN 50.5 million! This is a huge amount for Polish conditions and more than 50 million more than last year. For comparison, the team from Poznań ended the previous season in 11th place in the table.
