With a goal in stoppage time, Milan suffers an upset against Spezia in the Italian; Napoli beat Bologna

Milan lost 2-1 to Spezia in a game valid for the Italian Championship. With the result, the team remains in the runner-up position, two points behind leaders Inter Milan.

Milan pressured the opponent from the opening minutes, taking control of the match and making the first goal a matter of time. However, Spezia managed to defend themselves and, with a little luck, got away with the first goal on several occasions.

The home team created several opportunities, especially with the Portuguese Rafael Leão, who tormented Spezia’s defense on the left side.

Alongside Leão, the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimović had good chances to score, but the goalkeeper Ivan Provedel prevented the Milan team from starting in front, contributing with great saves.

At the end of the first half, in the 42nd minute, Rafael Leão was brought down in the area and, after consulting VAR, the referee awarded the penalty. In the kick, the Frenchman Theo Hernández hit low and the ball passed over the post. Milan’s goal insisted on leaving.

Four minutes later, however, Rafael Leão received a throw in the back of the marking, was face to face with the opposing goalkeeper and, from cover, opened the marker.

In the second stage, Stefano Pioli’s team managed the result and continued to control the game. In Spezia’s few chances, goalkeeper Mike Maignan did the trick. However, in the 18th minute, Kevin Agudelo tied the match for the visitors.

In stoppage time, Emmanuel Gyasi had defender Kalulu failed, received in the small area and kicked Maignan’s exit to turn the score around, decreeing Spezia’s triumph and Milan’s fourth defeat in the competition.

Napoli, in turn, beat Bologna away from home, 2-0, with two goals from Mexican Hirving Lozano, taking third place in Serie A.
