Rennes thrashes Bordeaux (6-0) which remains in freefall in the French Championship

After three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1, Rennes ran over Bordeaux with a 6-0 home win for the 21st round of French Championship.

Rennes regained fourth place thanks to goals from Terrier, Bourigeaud, Laborde, Truffert and Guirassy, ​​who scored twice – all five of whom were French nationals.

Bordeaux dropped to 19th place, being overtaken by Lorient (18th), which drew 0-0 with Angers (12th), but has a superior goal difference.

Monaco, on the other hand, returned to fifth place in the table, after beating Clermont (16th) by 4-0.

Wissam Ben Yedder shone in the game with a double, which allowed him to score 12 goals, reaching the top of Ligue 1’s top scorer with Canadian Jonathan David (Lille).

With this result, the new Monaco coach, the Belgian Philippe Clement, successfully debuted at home at the Louis II stadium of the Principality.

Also this Sunday, Lyon climbed to 10th place by beating Troyes (17th) away from home by 1-0.

The Lyons had not won the championship since the end of November and ended the losing streak thanks to a penalty converted in the 33rd minute by Moussa Dembele.

After showing good football in the draw against leaders Paris Saint-Germain in the last round, Lyon seems to confirm their improvement, just before the derby against the bottom Saint-Etienne (20th), on Friday of next week.
