Fabinho scores, Liverpool beats Brentford and takes the runner-up of the English

This Sunday, Liverpool and Brentford faced each other for the 22nd round of the Premier League. At Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s team won 3-0, with goals from Fabinho, called up for the Brazilian national team, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino.

With the result, the Reds move up to second place, with 45 points, 11 behind leaders Manchester City. The London team is in 14th place, with 23.

In the next round, Liverpool visit Crystal Palace, on Sunday (23/01), at 11 am (GMT). Brentford welcomes Wolverhampton, at 12:00 (Brasília time).

The game – In the first half, Liverpool were in danger in the 14th minute, with a shot by Trent Alexander-Arnold that passed the crossbar. At 23, after a corner, Van Dijk kicked low, forcing a good save from goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez.

Until, at 44, the hosts managed to open the scoring. Fabinho climbed higher than the defense and headed towards the back of the net after a corner.

In the second half, Brentford almost reached an equalizer in the 14th minute. Bryan Mbeumo found space inside the area, but ended up kicking it wide.

Then, at 24, Andrew Robertson crossed in the area and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took the opportunity to send it to the back of the net.

At 32, Roberto Firmino found Takumi Minamino inside the area. The Japanese hit low in the middle of the goal and scored Liverpool’s third.
