Salah scores as Egypt beats Guinea-Bissau in Africa Cup of Nations

This Saturday, Egypt beat Guinea-Bissau in the second round of the African Cup of Nations, 1-0, with a goal by Salah. The Egyptians score for the first time and move up to second in Group D.

In the same group, Nigeria beat Sudan 3-1, with goals from Chukwueze, Awoniyi and Simon. Khedr scored from the penalty spot. With the victory, the Nigerians reached six points and are qualified for the next phase.

Egypt dominated Guinea-Bissau in the first half and hit the post twice. The goal came only in the second half, in the 24th minute, when Amr Elsulya launched Salah who hit a beautiful shot with his left leg to swell the nets. Guinea-Bissau even equalized in the last minute of the match, but VAR detected a foul in the move and disallowed the goal.

Nigeria already defined the confrontation in the first stage. Chukwueze scored in the 3rd minute and already at the lights out, 45, Awoniyi widened. Even with the advantage, the Nigerians came back from the locker room and scored the third with Moses Simon, with a minute into the second half. Walieldin Khedr took a penalty kick at 25 and that was it.
