Moisés Caicedo watched Brighton’s agonizing draw against Crystal Palace from the bench

The Ecuadorian was summoned by Graham Potter despite having only a few days training after his return to the Gaviotas team.

Brighton avoided defeat at home to Crystal Palace in the final stretch, with whom they ended up drawing 1-1, this Friday in the first match of matchday 22 in the Premier League. The Ecuadorian Moisés Caicedo was summoned by DT Graham Potter after being urgently withdrawn from his loan at Beerschot in Belgium, however, he was not considered within the three changes used by the strategist.

The urgent call of the Ecuadorian, which took place last Wednesday, is due to the casualties caused by the Zambian Enock Mwepu and the Ivorian-Malian Yves Bissouma, both midfield players.

Crystal Palace (11th) took the lead in the 69th minute through Conor Gallagher and in the 87th minute Brighton (8th) equalized thanks to a goal against the Danish Joachim Andersen.

Caicedo, an international with Ecuador since October 2020 when the South American qualifier for the Qatar 2022 World Cup began, defended the Brighton shirt in a match of the English League Cup (Carabao Cup) against Cardiff City; he was also on the bench for the first two games of the current Premier League season.

However, coach Graham Potter could not offer him enough minutes in the Premier and the Brighton board decided to transfer him to the Jupiler Pro League in Belgium. With Beerschot, Caicedo signed more than ten performances in the league championship and a couple more in the Belgian Cup (Beker van België).

His contract with Brighton is for four and a half years and will end on June 30, 2025. (D)
