70,000 tickets have been sold for the women’s classic between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid at the Camp Nou

There are still tickets left until the stadium can be filled 100%, the Barça club announced. The match will be played on March 30.

FC Barcelona announced this Friday that it has already sold 70,000 tickets for the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League between the Barça first team and Real Madrid on March 30 at the Camp Nou.

The entity opened the ticket reservation process for the match last Wednesday. In the first 24 hours, only members were able to purchase a maximum of four seats for free, while it was not until Thursday when the general public was able to buy tickets at prices ranging between 9 and 15 euros.

“70,000 tickets sold! There are still tickets left until the stadium can be filled 100%”, wrote the Barça club on their social networks.

The record number of attendees in a women’s football match in Spain dates back to Atlético de Madrid- FC Barcelona in 2019, which was attended by 60,739 people, a figure that the Champions League classic could exceed if the pace is taken into account in ticket sales and the capacity of the Camp Nou, which exceeds 99,000 seats.

The second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals will be the second time that the women’s first team, current European champions, has played at the Camp Nou since becoming professional.

In January 2021, FC Barcelona already played the League derby against Espanyol on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first match played in the stadium by the City of Barcelona team.

However, on that occasion the duel was behind closed doors due to capacity restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (D)
