Russian volleyball player Dmitry Musersky, who has played for the Japanese club Suntory Sunbirds since 2018, was disqualified after rechecking his doping test, which he passed in May 2013, according to the team’s website.
The club for which he plays has received a notification about the removal of the player from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). The athlete was reportedly suspended for nine months. The restriction will be in effect from April 5, 2021 to January 4, 2022.
It is noted that during the period of disqualification, Musersky managed to play five matches for the Russian national team in the League of Nations-2021, but due to an injury he missed the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, where the Russian national team won silver medals.
Earlier it became known that the American figure skater Jessica-Noel Kalalang will not be punished for doping. The athlete escaped responsibility, as the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) concluded that a prohibited substance entered her body along with cosmetics.
