The Dutchman explained the accusations of cheating on the “Dakar” against the “KamAZ-master”

Dutch racer Mauric van den Hevel from the International team explained the accusations of cheating at the Dakar rally in Saudi Arabia against the Russian KamAZ-master team. This was reported to “Championship.com” by the navigator of the Russian Eduard Nikolaev Yevgeny Yakovlev.

He said that the Dutchman’s manager approached them the day after the race and apologized for his client. He stressed that van den Hevel was too upset by the defeat and made accusations of passion. “If he is such a person, he can say whatever he wants. We will not pay attention to this, ”the navigator summed up.

On January 10, van den Hevel announced that KamAZ-Master had equipment that would give them additional information on the waypoints of the special stage. He called the impossibility of defeating the Russians unfair.

Van den Hevel retired from the Dakar in the seventh stage, crashing his truck. At the moment, the overall standings of the race are headed by three Russian crews.

The race takes place in Saudi Arabia for the third year in a row. The competition started on January 1 and will end on January 14, 2022.
