Torino thrashed Fiorentina 4-0, on Monday, at the Estadio Olimpico in Turin, in a match valid for the 21st round of the Italian Championship.
Torino reached 28 points with the victory and is now in 9th place in the competition. Even with the defeat, Fiorentina is in 7th place in the Italian Championship, with 32 points.
For the 22nd round of the Italian Championship, Torino returns to the field to face Sampdoria, at Luigi Ferraris Stadium, next Saturday. Fiorentina, in turn, will face Genoa, on Monday (17), at Artemio Franchi.
Playing at home, Torino had a goal from Wilfried Singo to open the scoring in the 19th minute of the first half. The defender climbed higher than the opposing defense and scored with a header.
A few minutes later, 23 minutes into the opening period, Josip Brekalo received a pass inside the area and hit to widen. Before the break, Brekalo scored his second goal, Torino’s third of the match.
In the complementary stage, Fiorentina resorted to substitutions to try to change the team’s attitude, but it didn’t work. Torino continued dominating the duel, until, in the 13th minute of the second half, Antonio Sanabria scored the fourth for the Turin team and gave the final numbers to the game.
