– I am pleased and grateful to the judge for re-validating my visa. Despite everything that has happened, I want to stay and try to compete in the Australian Open. I focus on it. I came here to play in front of amazing fans at one of the highlights, wrote Djoković on Twitter.

“This is the biggest win of his career”

When Djoković announced that he did not intend to withdraw and continue playing, there was a special press conference organized by the player’s family. He did not take part in it. The conference can be viewed at the link below (from the 58th minute).

– Novak is a mental rock. He has never offended anyone, he always tries to help, not the other way around – said the player’s father.

“I’m sure Australia’s judicial system was under tremendous pressure as the whole world was watching it. Hopefully Novak will find enough strength to compete and win. Novak is free, he trained on the courts. He went there to pursue another title, with the best possible intentions and all the documentation. I thank the people around the world who stood up for him. I would also like to thank judge Kelly, who was thorough and neutral – said Novak Djokovic’s brother.

When asked about a positive test result for the Serbian tennis player on December 16, he answered briefly. – The entire process was made public and all documents are made public.

Novak Djokovic’s mother said it was his son’s biggest win in his career.

– At one point we didn’t know if he was okay, we couldn’t communicate with him. I’m sure all mothers will understand how worried I was. This is the biggest win in his career. Novak did nothing against Australian law, but was abused. We will probably find out more details soon – said the player’s mother.

If Djoković ultimately plays in this tournament, considering how he has been driving him for years to be against the whole world (except Serbia), I will not be surprised how he will smash all his rivals and win the Australian Open – commented Dominik Senkowski, journalist at Sport.pl.

The Australian Open will start on Monday, January 17. Novak Djoković is the title defender. In last year’s final he defeated the Russian Daniil Medvedev (2nd ATP) 7: 5, 6: 2, 6: 2.
