Cologne beats Hertha Berlin and Wolfsburg is defeated by Bochum

Cologne visited Hertha Berlin this Sunday, for the 18th round of the German Championship, and won an expressive victory away from home, by the score of 3 to 1.

Cologne’s goals were scored by Modeste, Ondrej Duda and Jan Thielmann. Vladimír Darida scored for the home team.

With this result, Colônia reached 28 points and now occupies the sixth position in the German Championship. The Berlin team, in turn, is in 12th place, with 21 points.

In the next round, Hertha Berlin visit Wolfsburg. The duel takes place at Wolkswagen Arena, Saturday, at 11:30 am (Brasília time).

Meanwhile, Cologne welcomes leaders Bayern Munich, also on Saturday, at 11:30 am.

The game – Hertha Berlin started better and in the fifth minute they had a good chance, but Myziane Maolida finished wide.

In the 19th minute of the first half, Louis Schaub had the first great chance for Cologne, but his shot stopped in the good defense of the opposing goalkeeper.

After that, the visiting team started to dominate the match and continued attacking, until, in the 29th minute, striker Modeste deflected his head to open the scoring.

Soon after, in the 32nd minute, Colônia extended it with a beautiful shot by Ondrej Duda.

Even with the defeat on the scoreboard, the home team came back better for the second half and, in the 12th minute, Vladimír Darida discounted for Hertha, in a free kick.

The game was evenly matched, with chances for both sides. However, in stoppage time, Jan Thielmann scored the visitors’ third goal and closed the score at 3-1 for Cologne.

In another match this Sunday, Bochum defeated Wolfsburg, at home, by 1-0. The only goal of the game was scored by Milos Pantovic, in the 20th minute of the second half. The victory leaves the hosts in 11th place in the table, with 18 points, the same score as Wolfsburg, which is in 14th place.
