Renata Voracova leaves Australia after the cancellation of her visa | Other Sports | sports

As with Novak Djokovic, the authorities refused his entry into the country for health reasons.

Czech tennis player Renata Voracova left Australia this Saturday after her visa was canceled for health reasons, a government source announced.

Voracova, 38, was in the same detention center as Serbian Novak Djokovic, who is prohibited from entering the country as he does not meet the strict conditions imposed in the fight against COVID-19.

The Czech tennis player took a flight from Melboune on Saturday night in Australia.

Voracova was in the same case as Djokovic: not vaccinated against covid-19, she was granted an exemption by the Australian Federation so that she could play the Australian Open, which begins on January 17, after being infected with the virus at the end from last year.

But, as with the No. 1 in the Serbian world, the authorities rejected their entry into the country, considering that the reason for their exemption did not meet the strict conditions of entry into the territory in the framework of the fight against covid -19.

In an interview with Czech newspapers on Friday TODAY Y Sport, Voracova had recounted her experience in that center.

“I’m in a room and I can’t go anywhere,” said the stunt specialist. “I can’t half open my window more than a few inches,” he continued.

“There are guards everywhere, including under my window, which is pretty funny. Maybe they think I’m going to jump up and run away, ”he added. (D)
