Ovechkin named second star in NHL kick-off week

The National Hockey League (NHL) has named the top three starting week players in the regular season. This is reported on the website of the organization.

The first star is the Slovenian Los Angeles Kings forward Anže Kopitar. In two starting matches, he scored four goals and made three assists. The second place was taken by the Russian striker “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin. He also played two games in which he scored three goals and two assists.

The three best players of the week were closed by Steven Stamkos. The Canadian striker Tampa Bay Lightning has played one more match. He has three goals and four goals scored.

On October 14, Ovechkin climbed to fifth on the list of the best snipers in NHL history with a double against the New York Rangers in the regular season. The athlete has now scored 732 goals.
