Tottenham manager Antonio Conte announced on Friday that South Korea’s Son Heung-min has suffered a muscle injury and will miss several important games in the coming weeks.
The player was injured on Wednesday in a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the first leg of the FA Cup semi-finals.
“Against Chelsea I made two changes, taking away Son and Lucas Moura, but not because they were injured, but to spare them a little,” explained Conte. “The next day (Son) felt muscle pain in his leg,” said the commander.
Initially, Son will be out in the second leg of the League Cup semi-finals and also in three Premier League games: the North London derby against Arsenal, the duel against Leicester and a new clash against Chelsea.
Tottenham, with 33 points, are sixth in the Premier League standings, two points behind Arsenal, fourth and last in the Champions League zone.
