Defrauded by covid-19, Bayern presses, but is defeated by Borussia Monchengladbach in Alemão

Bayern lost to Borussia Monchengladbach this Friday, 2-1, in the Bundesliga. Despite the result, the team remains in the lead of the tournament with nine points more than Borussia Dortmund, which has one game less.

Even with embezzlement due to covid-19, Bayern started the match by pressing the opponent and creating several opportunities.

After much stifling Borussia, top scorer Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring with a beautiful goal. In the 17th minute, the Pole dominated at the entrance of the area, taking off the marker, and released a shot in the right corner. The visitors continued with defensive difficulties and counted on the goalkeeper Sommer to avoid a greater disadvantage.

With 26, in an isolated throw, the midfielder Neuhaus took advantage of a surplus in the small area and pushed to the back of the net, tying the match.

Just five minutes later, full-back Stefan Lainer headed in after the cross and, surprisingly, turned the game in Monchengladbach’s favor.

At the end of the first half, Lewandowski left the defender on the ground and, even without an angle, finished on the post. On the rebound, Thomas Muller kicked but was blocked by defender Ginter. Despite the many chances created, Bayern went into the break at a disadvantage.

From the first minute of the second half, the home team set out to attack and suffocate the opponent. With a lot of dominance, only Bayern played, controlling the actions in the midfield and preventing Borussia’s counterattacks, which only defended.

Julian Nagelsmann’s team dominated, but the ball was difficult to enter. Lewa even took a risk from outside the area at times and, in one of them, the kick exploded on the crossbar.

The highlight was the archer Sommer, who avoided the goal of Bayern on several occasions and ensured the unlikely victory of the visiting team.
