Santa Clara turns, beats Sporting and continues to seek to climb the Portuguese table

At home, Santa Clara lived up to its performance this Friday and beat Sporting 3-2. In a duel valid for the 17th round of the Portuguese Championship, the team rises to 13th position with 16 points. His opponent, on the other hand, lost the chance to take the lead and remains with 44 added.

In the next round, Santa Clara will host Tondela at 12:30 pm (Brasília time) on the 16th. Later, on the same day, Sporting will visit Vizela at 3 pm.

The game – Early on, João Palhinha opened the scoring to put Sporting in front. On the rebound, the midfielder took a risk towards the goal and hit the right corner.

Who tied the score still in the first stage, at São Miguel Stadium, was the Brazilian Jean Patric. Pierre Sagna made a great cross and the winger appeared in the area, free of marking, to head in.

In the second half, the teams came back in full swing. At five minutes, Pablo Sarabia showed presence in the area and scored Sporting’s second. He took advantage of the assistance of Pedro Gonçalves and fired a shot in the left corner.

No time to celebrate. In the next minute, Jean Patric gave Lincoln a beautiful finish and equalized at 2-2.

At 33, Santa Clara turned the game around and closed the scoring. Lincoln was in a good position to kick, but he preferred to trigger Ricardinho. He received the ball and finished with a shot that touched the crossbar and went in to swing the net.
