MMA Union of Russia decided to fight freak fights with the help of the prosecutor’s office

The head of the MMA Union of Russia, Radmir Gabdullin, shared his opinion on the popularity of fights with the participation of celebrities in the country. This is reported by RBC.

“These freak fights do not develop mixed martial arts (MMA), they only put the sport to shame. We do not support these undertakings and believe that they discredit MMA, ”Gabdullin said, commenting on the duel between deputy Vitaly Milonov and artist Nikita Dzhigurda. He noted that the union intends to fight against the holding of tournaments where the MMA rules are not respected.

Gabdullin criticized bookmakers who buy advertisements for such events and thereby help the promotions develop. “For our part, we will call on the prosecutor’s office and the Federal Antimonopoly Service to pay attention to the activities of these bookmakers,” he said.

Milonov and Dzhigurda played a duel according to the rules of boxing as part of the Our Deal promotion event. In the main battle, the Russian heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko and blogger Artem Tarasov met.
