Tottenham beats Newcastle in a comeback; Everton loses at home to West Ham

Tottenham was not intimidated by playing away from their domains and defeated Newcastle by 3-2, this Sunday, in a game valid for the eighth round of the English Championship.

The hosts went ahead of the marker with Wilson, head, with just two minutes of play. The visitors’ reaction came in the first half. At 17, Ndombele kicked at the angle to tie the game. Five minutes later, Harry Kane swung the nets and turned the score. The goal was disallowed for offside, but after a review by the VAR, the goal was validated. In additions, Son extended the advantage.

In the second half, at 38, Shelvey was sent off and the hosts had to end the match with one player less. However, they still managed to reduce the score with an own goal by Eric Dier.

Before the break, a fan suffered a sudden illness in the stands and the confrontation was interrupted so that there was medical care.

With the result, the Spurs jumped to fifth position with 15 points. Newcastle already bitter the vice-lantern of the Premier League.

Tottenham returns to the field this Thursday, when it visits Vitesse, for the Conference League. Newcastle, on the other hand, remains focused on English and will face Crystal Palace, next Saturday.

Everton loses at home

Earlier, Everton, acting in front of their fans, lost to West Ham by 1-0, with a goal by Ogbonna, 29 in the second half. The defeat pushed the hosts to eighth place, while the visitors remain in seventh place.

Next Saturday, Everton will host Watford, for the Premier League, while West Ham will face Genk, on Thursday, for the Europa League.
