Maccabi – Baskonia is suspended

The Euroleague announced on Tuesday the postponement of the match between the Real Madrid and UNICS Kazan, belonging to day 19, after the request for suspension of the Russian team after knowing several positives for covid-19 in its squad and not having the minimum of eight players eligible to play.

The Euroleague also announced on Monday the suspension of the Alba Berlin-Panathinaikos, Anadolu Efes-Bayern Munich and Zalgiris Kaunas-Olympiacos, corresponding to matchday 19, for cases of COVID-19 in the squads of Panathinaikos, Anadolu Efes and Olympiacos.

According to the Euroleague statement, “Panathinaikos, Efes Pilsen and Olympiacos requested the suspension after several team members tested positive for COVID-19, which leaves them without the minimum of eight players of the Authorization List suitable to play “.

The Euroleague stresses that it will coordinate with the affected teams to “assess the best options to reschedule matches”, which could be changed dates “up to a maximum of three times.”
