Stoch crash, five Poles in the competition
Monday’s qualifiers were going very well for the Polish representatives. The first five of them, after their rehearsals, could enjoy some promotion to the Tuesday competition. The fears were only confirmed by Kamil Stoch’s attempt, who unexpectedly, in good conditions, jumped only 114 meters and only took 59th place.
The best Pole was Andrzej Stękała (122.5 m), who took 18th place, and 26th Piotr Żyła (117 m), 32. Paweł Wąsek (118 m), 34. Jakub Wolny (119 m) also advanced to the competition. and 36. Dawid Kubacki (115 m).
The best in qualifying was Ryoyu Kobayashi, who jumped 126.5 meters in difficult conditions. The Austrian Jan Hoerl (129 m) was second and the Swiss Killian Peier (127.5 m) was third.
