The captain of the Russian youth team explained the removal of the team from the flight in Canada

The captain of the Russian youth hockey team Marat Khusnutdinov commented on the withdrawal of the team’s players from the flight to Canada. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Khusnutdinov said that Canada is very serious about observance of the mask regime during the coronavirus pandemic. “Many people take advantage of the scandalous situation and interpret it as they want. If in Canada the mask comes down in a dream, they will shake you – they will wake you up. They can raise their voice, but they will repeat it. Patience may run out and they will take action, ”he explained.

On January 1, it became known that the Russian youth team was unable to fly out of Calgary, Canada after the 2022 World Youth Championship was canceled. The head coach of the team, Sergei Zubov, said that the reason was a violation of the mask regime.

Swedish journalist Marie Lehmann, who was supposed to fly with the team, said that some hockey players behaved indecently at the airport. She noted that drunkenness, smoking and the unwillingness of athletes to wear masks became the reason for the denial of boarding.
