Whims set an NHL record in 21-degree frost

Russian striker “Minnesota Wild” Kirill Kaprizov earned three points for scoring in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL) against the St. Louis Blues. The results are available on the league website.

For the Russian, this goal was the 40th for the club. Thus, Kaprizov set a record for Minnesota, having thrown the fastest 40 goals. To do this, it took him 86 matches. The match was won by the St. Louis Blues with a score of 6: 4.

The meeting took place within the framework of the “Winter Classic” -2022, when the teams play outdoors. The temperature in Minneapolis at the start of the game was minus 21 degrees.

On December 21, Whims set another club record. Now Kaprizov has 36 points for performance (12 goals and 24 assists) in the starting 30 games of the season. The previous achievement belonged to Marian Gaborik, who in the 2007/2008 season scored 34 points in 30 meetings.
