The huge crisis of Kamil Stoch. A sad comment from the master

Even before the start, we were worried about the form of all Polish jumpers, but Kamil Stoch was an exception. The three-time Olympic champion was able to be in the lead. He even stood on the podium once. He was third in Klingenthal. However, from the beginning of the New Year’s party, the Pole does not present such a high form. He did not qualify for the second round in Oberstdorf and unfortunately it happened again in Garmisch Partenkirchen.

Earlier, Kamil signaled that he was confused. He doesn’t know what causes such weak jumps. Although in training and qualifying everything indicated that he had found the key to better attempts. Unfortunately, the competition was unsuccessful again.

The attitude of the current Polish champion may be worrying, because this is the fourth time this winter when he has not scored any points. This is the first such situation in five years. In the 2015/2016 season, Stoch did not qualify for the second round of the competition five times. He even dropped out of qualifying then.

It may turn out that the competition was the last one for Stoch in the jubilee edition of the Four Hills Tournament. After the unsuccessful competition in Oberstdorf for Polish jumpers, it was said that if the competition on New Year’s Day also turned out to be weak, the staff would consider withdrawing. Today it is true that Jakub Wolny i advanced to the second series, but the others, unfortunately, did below expectations.
