American actress Betty White, six-time Emmy winner, passed away on December 31 in Los Angeles, three weeks before her 100th birthday. According to People magazine, the death of the elderly actress came from natural causes.

“I don’t think Betty was afraid of leaving this life, because she always wanted to be with her beloved husband Allen Ludden,” the actress’s agent Jeff Whitjas told the magazine. “She believed she would be with him again.”

Betty White’s most famous roles were her roles in the television series Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. It was for her performance in Golden Girls that she was recognized in 1986 as the winner of the Best Actress in a Comedy Series nomination.

Betty White, who began her television career in 1939 and has worked in television for nearly 80 years, was one of the pioneers of the American blue screen. She has been one of the most popular and most awarded comedy actresses on television – a six-time Emmy winner and has been nominated for the award more than 20 times.
