Peru will play friendlies against Panama and Jamaica before receiving Ecuador in Lima, on date 16 of the tie

The Peruvian team will face Panama and Jamaica in friendly matches with a team made up mainly of players from the Peruvian and American league, whose championship is in recess.

The only player from Europe in the call-up published this Thursday is midfielder Sergio Peña, from the Swedish Malmö FF, a club that has no commitments until February, when it begins to compete in the Swedish Cup.

Therefore, players from the major European leagues who resume their activity in January do not appear on the list, as is the case of Renato Tapia (Celta de Vigo) and Luis Abram (Granada) in Spain and Miguel Trauco (Saint-Étienne ) in France.

Likewise, the Mexican league footballers Pedro Aquino (América) and Anderson Santamaría (Atlas) were left out, while there is Yoshimar Yotún, who is a free player after recently leaving Cruz Azul.

Nor have André Carrillo (Al Hilal) and Christian Cueva (Al Fateh) been included, who are active in Saudi Arabia, and where Al Hilal plays the final of the national Super Cup.

Among the most notable absences is that of midfielder Raziel García, a new signing for Deportes Tolima, in addition to the already known loss due to injury to the captain and all-time top scorer Paolo Guerrero.

However, the participation of the eight summoned who are active abroad will always be subject to their respective clubs granting them permission to join the national team, since these matches are not part of the calendar established by FIFA.

Among those summoned there are novelties such as the Alianza Lima goalkeeper Angelo Campos, while it will also be an opportunity for young promises such as Jhilmar Lora and Oslimg Mora, among others, to take advantage.

La Blanquirroja will host Panama on January 16 at the National Stadium in Lima and Jamaica four days later.

Both games will serve the Peruvian team in preparation for the next round of the South American qualifying qualifying rounds for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, in which they will meet Colombia in Barranquilla and Ecuador in Lima.
