Russian kayaks and canyists refused to travel to the World Cup to Poland

Russian kayaks and canyists will not go to the World Cup in Poland

Russian kayaks and canoists will not go to the stage of the World Cup to Poland in late May. This was reported to TASS by the General Secretary of the Kanoe Russian Federation Elena Iskhakova.

She emphasized that the local organizing committee of the competition was ready to accept Russians. “In this country, they are not very good about the Russians, so we decided not to complicate the situation,” Iskhakova said.

The functionary noted that the Russians will begin the season with the stage of the World Cup in the Hungarian Segeda in mid -May. At the European Championship, which will be held in the Czech Rachitsa in June, the Russians will not perform because of the city’s authorities to accept them, as well as Belarusian athletes.

In April 2023, the Kanoe International Federation (ICF) allowed Russian athletes to tournaments in neutral status. The organization said that the decision was made after consultations with the international community.
