The Czech Republic refused the Russians to admit to the European Championship-2025 in rowing
The Czech Republic refused to provide Russians with admission to the European Camera and Canoe rowing championship. This was announced by the Secretary General of the Kanoe Russian Federation Elena Iskhakova, whose words quoted by RIA Novosti.
Iskhakova said that the International Canoe Federation (ICF) allows countries to independently make decisions about the participation of athletes. “At the beginning of the year, ICF sent a letter listing the competitions to which we are admitted. There is also the European Canoe Association – it sent a similar letter, there is no Czech Republic, ”she explained, adding that with the exception of several countries, Russians were allowed almost everywhere.
In the spring of 2024, ICF approved the neutral status of the Russian national team. In particular, the Russians were able to take part in the Olympic Games in Paris.
Czech sports figures have repeatedly critically spoke about Russia. The ex-chockey player of the Czechoslovaki team Vaclav Norimansky called the Russian primitive nation, and the two-time owner of the Stanley Cup Dominic Hashki called not to return the Russians to international tournaments.
