Minister of Sports Degtyarev said that there are no more reasons for removing the OCD
The President of the Olympic Committee of Russia (OKR) and Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mikhail Degtyarev called the reasons for the restoration of the OCD in rights. His words are given by RIA Novosti.
Degtyarev said that the regional Olympic councils are no longer members of the OCD, which means that there are no more reasons for removing. He emphasized that he sent a letter to restore the OCD to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), as well as the requirement to allow Russian Olympians to selection – to all winter international federations.
Earlier, Degtyarev announced working with the IOC. He explained that with international organizations it is necessary to conduct a dialogue in a legal manner.
Since the end of February 2022, most Russian athletes have been suspended from international tournaments on the recommendation of the IOC. Some athletes got the opportunity to perform on the world arena in neutral status, some of the Russians changed citizenship and represents other countries.
