RFU and MediaScope called football athletes number one in Russia

In November 2024, Mediascope conducted a study by the RFU. According to the results, football remains a leader in the level of media consumption and audience interest among sports lovers. In addition, it is noted that every tenth Russian plays football at least once a week.
“72 percent of Russians aged 12-64 years replied that they are either fans of football, or try to watch football broadcasts or are interested in football to some extent,” the report said.
In December, VTsIOM published the results of a survey of Russians about national sports. When asked what kind of sports the respondents would call the national, 27 percent of the respondents were called hockey.
