The functionary urged to respect the decision of the specialist. “We express her deep gratitude for the work and support of athletes for decades. I am sure her experience will be in demand in the preparation of a new generation of coaches, ”Degtyarev said.
Wiener announced the departure from the Russian team earlier on February 12. She added that she would transfer the gained experience to trainers engaged in the preparation of future generations of stars.
Wiener served as the head coach of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team since 2001. In 2008, she headed the All-Russian Federation of rhythmic gymnastics (VFHG).
