Vyalbe: As the head of the IOC Bach, he did nothing good for the sports movement
The President of the Russian Ski Raxes (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe appreciated the work of Thomas Bach as head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Her words are given by RIA Novosti.
In her opinion, Bach did nothing good for the sports movement. “Everything is connected only with politics. If he were, as they say, a free person, then, of course, everything would be different. After all, he himself is a former athlete. Only for us can he be a person who destroyed the principles of Olympism, ”said the head of the FLGR.
Vyalba noted that she was offended by the double standards and unfair sanctions that exist in the Olympic movement. “But we must believe in a good future. Sports, no matter how related to politics, should be out of politics, ”she added.
Bach has been holding a position since September 2013. In March 2025, the elections of the new head of the IOC will be held.
Since the end of February 2022, most Russian athletes have been suspended from international tournaments on the recommendation of the IOC. Some athletes got the opportunity to perform on the world arena in neutral status, some of the Russians changed citizenship and represents other countries.
