Chelsea fans chanted Abramovich’s name in the game of the Cup of England with Brighton
The fans of the London Chelsea chanted the name of the former owner of the team-the Russian businessman Roman Abramovich during the match of the Cup of England, reports Sport-Express.
This happened at the end of the meeting of the 1/16 finals of the tournament, in which the Londoners played with Brighton. The match ended with a score of 2: 1 in favor of the latter.
In May 2022, Abramovich sold the club to the consortium of American businessman Todd Boelley. The amount of the transaction amounted to 5.33 billion dollars. The Russian was forced to part with the team, as he fell under the sanctions of the Government of Great Britain. After that, the club did not win a single trophy.
Earlier it was reported about the desire of Abramovich to buy a new football club. It was clarified that the businessman was interested in the Spanish Valencia.
