Daily said that the League leadership awaits the results of the meeting of the Council of the International Federation of Hockey (IIHF) on the issue of Russia’s status in the season-2025/2026. “Do we expect Russia to be allowed to the Olympic Games? Nothing depends on us, ”he added.
Earlier, IIHF announced that on February 3-4 it would consider the issue of admission of the Russian national team to the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. In the event of a positive decision, the Russian team will play with the USA, Slovakia and Latvia in group S.
IIHF extended the removal of the national teams of Russia and Belarus for the season-2024/2025. For the first time, restrictions were introduced in February 2022.
