Former hockey player, State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov spoke about how Russian President Vladimir Putin changed his life. His words are given by RIA Novosti.
Fetisov thanked Putin for seeing his leader and changed his fate. “I am happy that I managed to achieve great heights both in sports and as a leader. I try to do my job well. The career is saturated, but something tells me something, there will be something else ahead, ”he said.
Fetisov is a two -time Olympic champion, a seven -time world champion, a three -time owner of the Stanley Cup (twice as a player, once as a coach). He later held the post of chairman of the board of directors of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) and was the president of the Moscow Hockey Club CSKA.
Fetisov began the political career in 2002 as the chairman of the state sports. After he worked in various government agencies, including the Federation Council.
