Trampoline Skater Bladtseva on Neutral Status at the Olympics: Everyone Knew We Were from Russia

Russian trampoline athlete Angela Bladtseva spoke about participating in the 2024 Olympic Games as a neutral. Her words are quoted by Sport-Express.

Bladtseva shared that her decision was supported, and she tried not to pay attention to the statements of various people in the press. “Only the words [президента Всероссийской федерации художественной гимнастики] Irina Viner, who called the athletes participating in the 2024 Olympics a team of homeless people. I can’t say that I was offended or upset. I took it calmly. Everyone has their own opinion,” the Russian woman said.

The trampolinist noted that she was treated kindly at the Olympics. “In any case, in Paris, everyone knew perfectly well that we were from Russia. They even shouted to me in Russian: “Forward, Angela! Come on, come on!” ” the athlete said.

Bladtseva was one of the favourites at the Paris Games, but was left without a medal. The 19-year-old Russian received 55.020 points for her performance in the final and took fifth place.
