The Czech cyclist of the team DSM Pavel Bittner has won the first stage of the 2024 Vuelta a Burgosthis Monday, in Burgos, to the sprintand, in this way, it is the first leader of the race.
The first day of the race was decided by a mass finish, which was part of the script, although it was dominated by three men who formed the breakaway of the day; Iker Mintegi (Euskaltel-Euskadi), Rodrigo Álvarez (Burgos BH) and Diego Pablo Sevilla (Polti Kometa) had a lead of almost two and a half minutes, although they were caught by the peloton before the most decisive kilometres.
In the final metres, the young Bittner, 21 years old, has won with superiority and brilliance.
On Tuesday, The Vuelta a Burgos puts its second stage into play, with departure in Valle de Mena and arrival at the Ojo Guareña Karst Complexover a distance of 161 kilometers.
