Another Russian Tennis Player Eliminated from Olympics

Roman Safiullin lost to Carlos Alcaraz and was eliminated from the 2024 Olympics in Paris

Tennis player Roman Safiullin has become yet another Russian to be eliminated from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, a Lenta.ru correspondent reports.

In the third round, the athlete suffered a defeat from the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. The game lasted two sets and ended with a score of 6:4, 6:2 in favor of the world’s third racket. Safiullin is ranked 66th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rating.

Among the Russians participating in the tennis tournament, Daniil Medvedev, who plays in men’s singles, and Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider, who play in doubles, remained.

A total of seven Russian tennis players accepted the invitation to compete at the Paris Games. In addition to the above-mentioned players, they included Pavel Kotov, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Elena Vesnina.
