At Borussia Dortmund, the Brazilian full-back will wear the number 2 shirt. He was eager to make his debut at the Signal Iduna Park Stadium.
“It’s a dream come true for me. Borussia Dortmund is a special club. Every child in Brazil knows the size of this club, knows the fans and is fascinated by the yellow wall. I can’t wait to wear the BVB jersey for the first time and see the power and emotions that I experience in this great stadium,” he said.
Now 22, Yan Couto joined Manchester City from Coritiba in 2020. Since then, he has had a series of loan spells at clubs including Girona in Spain and Braga in Portugal.
Yan Couto’s debut for Dortmund could take place as early as next Tuesday, at 1:30 pm (BrasÃlia time). The German team will play a friendly against Villarreal at the Stadion Schnabelholz, in Austria.
