Pau Etxaniz wins the bronze medal in K1 slalom

The canoeist from Gipuzkoa Pau Etxaniz has taken the bronze medal by finishing in third position this Thursday in the K1 canoe slalom final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, achieving a time of 88.87 (two-second penalty) at the Vaires-sur-Marne facilities.
He has made it onto the podium, behind the Italian Giovanni di Gennaro (88.22), gold, and from French Titouan Castryck (88.42), silver. He would have even won if he hadn’t been penalized for a touch.
In the semi-finals, the San Sebastian native completed a very solid descent, and was only penalized by two seconds for a touch on one of the doors, to finish with a time of 96.11which allowed him to reach the final with the twelfth best time, last ticket.
