Euskaraz irakurri: Espainiak Egyptren aurka galdu du eta multizoko bigarren postuan sailkatu da final-laurdenetara (1-2)
The Spanish football team has lost against Egypt (1-2)after a double from Ibrahim Adel in the 40th and 62nd minutes. Samu Omorodion’s goal in the 90th minute was not enough to turn things around. Even so, Spain goes to the quarterfinals as second in Group C. They will play the quarter-finals in Lyon against the top-ranked team in Group D.
Jon Pacheco, Beñat Turrientes and Aimar Oroz were in the starting eleven. Pacheco played the entire match and a mistake by him gave Egypt the second goal.
Egypt was more electric in attack, giving a warning with a shot from inside the area that was blocked by Turrientes. Ibrahim Adel opened the scoring in the 40th minute for Egypt (0-1).
At the break, the only player who was back in the starting eleven, Aimar Oroz, went to the bench and Sergio Gómez came on. Spain tried to react, but Pacheco made a mistake in the 62nd minute.
The centre-back gave away a bad pass back and Ibrahim Adel was left alone in the one-on-one against Alejandro Iturbe to score a double (0-2).
Samu Omorodion reduced the deficit in the 90th minute, but there was no time left for a comeback (1-2).
