Ederson comments on possible Manchester City exit: “There is no definition yet”

On Saturday, goalkeeper Ederson spoke about a possible departure from Manchester City. The Brazilian is negotiating with Al-Ittihad, from Saudi Arabia, but his future is still uncertain. Recently, coach Pep Guardiola revealed that he would “from the bottom of his heart” like the goalkeeper to stay on the team.

“There is no definition yet. Hearing this from Pep is gratifying, it is already the eighth season with him, collecting many good moments, bad moments too. He is a guy who is easy to work with because he is a football genius, everyone knows that. So hearing this from his mouth is always good”, he said in an interview with TNT Sports BR after Manchester City’s 3-2 defeat to Milan in the USA in a friendly.

Despite the uncertainty, Ederson seemed confident about his next steps.

“I’m happy here, relaxed with my teammates, I’m enjoying myself, getting back into shape. I have peace of mind, whatever happens is in God’s hands, he knows the right path, what he will give me, I’ll be very happy,” he concluded.

The goalkeeper joined Manchester City in 2017 and became a key player in the team led by Pep Guardiola. Since then, Ederson has been a regular starter in the team and has won several important titles, including six English Championships, a Champions League and a Club World Cup.

Ederson is currently focused on pre-season with Manchester City. In addition to Milan, the Citizens have already faced Celtic from Scotland and were defeated 4-3. The club will also play friendlies against Barcelona and Chelsea, all in the United States.
