‘I’m an open-minded person, but this is a disgrace.’ Trump on transgender ‘Last Supper’ at Paris Olympics

Former US President Trump Calls 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony a Disgrace

Former American leader and presidential candidate in the upcoming elections Donald Trump spoke about the scandalous opening ceremony of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris. He called the event a disgrace.

The opening ceremony of the Games on July 26 drew criticism for including a scene involving transgender people, allegedly referencing Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper”.

A Fox News host asked Trump what he thought of the ceremony. According to the politician, it was terrible. Then the journalist noted that if the Games were held in the United States under Trump’s presidency, he would use his influence to ensure that such a scandal did not happen again and that Christians around the world were not hurt. Trump agreed.

Look, I’m for everyone, I’m a very open-minded person, but what they did is a disgrace.

Greek Church leader reacts to Olympic opening ceremony

The head of the Greek Orthodox Church, Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, also criticized the ceremony. “This is absolutely contemptible,” Ieronymos said.

Meanwhile, the Greek portal Pronews.gr called the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris the collapse of civilization due to the fact that transvestites portrayed the “Last Supper”.

At the same time, the Sportskeeda portal indicated that the authors of the ceremony could have referred not to Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper”, but to the painting “Feast of the Gods” by the Dutch artist Jan Harmenszoon van Bil’aert. The main argument in favor of this version was the presence of Dionysus in the painting and ceremony, which da Vinci did not have. In addition, they are united by a feast at the table.
