The shirt of Basque Team Esther Briz has qualified this Monday, along with Aina Cidfor the semi-finals of the two-without after finishing second in their repechage series behind the Danish Hedvig and Rasmussen. Cid and Briz, who were forced to compete in this round after finishing fourth and last in the first round, did not fail on Monday. It was enough for them to finish in the top three.
While the Danish team won with 7:34.57, Briz and Cid finished second with a time of 7:36.98, beating the boats from Great Britain (7:37.11) and New Zealand (7:46.18).
The semi-final will be held on Wednesday, and they will compete in the second round, in lane 1. They will face Chile, Lithuania, Australia, Ireland and the United States. They need to finish in the top three to compete in the final.
