Swimmer Vieira kicked out of Brazil team for leaving Olympic Village
Swimmer Ana Carolina Vieira was kicked out of the Brazilian team for leaving the Olympic village in Paris without permission. This was reported on the website of the country’s Olympic Committee.
The organization stated that the incident occurred on July 26. It is noted that Vieira challenged the decision of the team’s technical commission in a disrespectful and aggressive manner. The swimmer will return to Brazil in the near future.
At the 2024 Olympics, Vieira took part in the qualifying swim in the 4x100m freestyle relay. As a result, the Brazilian team took 12th place.
Earlier, swimmers from South Korea left the Olympic Village. The athletes complained about the heat in the buses and preferred to live in a hotel near the pool. In addition, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic refused to live in the Olympic Village at the 2024 Games in Paris due to increased attention.
