Spain advances to the quarterfinals after beating the Dominican Republic of Ibai Gómez and Fernando Amorebieta (1-3)

The Spanish selection The men’s football team won this Saturday Dominican Republic (1-3)on the second day of the group stage of the men’s Olympic tournament in Paris 2024, thanks to the goals of Fermin Lopez (minute 24), Alex Baena (minute 55) and Miguel Gutierrez (minute 74), thus certifying their passage to the quarter-finals with the third match of the group still to be played.

The Dominicans’ goal, the first in their history at the Olympic Games, was scored by Angel Montes de Ocawith a header, in the 38th minute.

Santi Denia’s team has met expectations by beating the team from Ibai Gomezwhich has put Spain in trouble until now Azcona’s expulsion for assaulting Cubarsi in the 45th minute of the match.

Spain is the first team qualified for the quarter finalsand makes the third group stage match against Egypt a mere formalityand, allowing Santi Denia to give rest to key players, as well as minutes to those who have had fewer opportunities in the first two games.
